THE DANGER OF GIVING UP

{Written by Christian Uzoechi}

Acts 1:20 “For it is written in the Book of Psalms,
“‘May his camp become desolate, and let there be no one to dwell in it’; and “‘Let another take his office.’ (ESV).

There is a special ministry given to you by the Holy Spirit, and a special grace given to you to fulfill it. If you refuse to give up, and continue walk in faith, love and humility, this special grace from God will always be available to help you. But if you give up or lift up yourself in pride, this special grace can be lifted from you, and your office can be given to another.

God cannot be stranded, His word cannot be mocked & His project cannot be abandoned. God still has 7000+ prophets & servants who have not bowed to baal, who are probably hidden in caves all over the world. Pride can attract rejection from God. And if you give up, don't ever think that without you, God can do nothing, for He has thousands and thousands of messengers who are willing to carry the cross for him right to Golgotha. "Be faithful unto end, and I will give you the crown of life, says the Lord". Don't allow your office to be given to another, and don't let another take your bishoprick.

During the youth of Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke when he was about going fully into the ministry, he brought an excuse before God, and God said to him "If you drop My purpose, I will drop you". Then he dropped his excuse and followed God (research more about Reinhard Bonnke).

Are you following God or are you following your excuses and feelings? Don't let another take your office. Are you unserious about God's calling in your life? Don't let the Lord drop you. Are you walking in great pride and being men pleaser just like King Saul? Don't let the Lord reject you. Always remember, the Lord has many Davids all over the world right now who can replace King Saul, and some of the Davids are still in the cave of Adullam patiently waiting upon the Lord.

The consequences of losing your office/bishoprick:
Getting rejected by God or giving up can attract several punishments which includes your life being rendered useless, losing direction in life (because you are no longer on the path God prepared for you, only the people who are on the right path know their direction in life - Proverbs 3:5-7). It can also lead to terrible afflictions, tragic death or your life being cut short as though you had not been anointing with oil (See 2 Samuel 1:21). The Lord can choose a man, and the Lord can reject a man. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

The last and worst danger is ending up in hell. I'm certain that Judas Iscariot went to hell because of these words from the mouth of our Lord Jesus Christ, "The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” (Matthew 26:24)." It is better not to be born than to end up in the dungeon and flames.

God's Mercy is still available:
Maybe you are always complaining about the cross you are carrying, stop complaining today! Let your complaints be turned into Thanksgiving. Maybe you are backslidden, maybe you have even betrayed God, there is still time for you to repent and ammend your ways. Our God is slow to anger and abounds in love (Psalm 103:8). God is still interested in you. Don't kill yourself just like Judas Iscariot, don't continue in pride and arrogance just like King Saul, don't despise holy and godly counsels just like King Rehoboam. Turn to your heavenly Father today, for He is good, and His great mercies endures forever (See Psalm 107:1-43).

Brothers and sisters, God loves you with an everlasting love, and with lovingkindness He has drawn you (Jeremiah 31:3).

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
